Firstly I'd like to say a huge thank you for placing (or considering placing) a commission with me!

Each custom watercolour painting is created using Winsor and Newton Series 1 Cotman Watercolours and painted on Bockingford 300gsm Cold Pressed paper, showing a subtle amount of that classic textured surface without detracting from the detail in your custom artwork.

Please head over to my shop, and take a look at the "commission" section. I have included a few varieties there for you to choose from, depending on the style you have in mind as well as size and media types. For any specific custom requests, please feel free to send me an email and I can get a quote to you as soon as possible! Processing times can vary depending on my availability. Please see the item description to get an ETA on your painting, or feel free to email me if you need a rush order and I can provide a quote.

Once you have added the correct item to your basket, and completed your purchase, please send me an email (hannahberrisfordart@btinternet.com) with your reference images and your order number. Please check out my 'how-to' page showing you the best types of reference images to send me ✨here

Once I have received your email with your reference images (you are very welcome to send me a link to a Google Drive folder or to a relevant Instagram account if your photos can't all fit into one email), I will be in touch to confirm any details you'd like included in your photo, like names or any accessories or background inclusions. I will then send you a photo of the sketch and check that you are happy with the composition of everything. This is the stage you can request any changes to proportions, adding or excluding certain details etc. If you have changed your mind on the reference image, and want a complete re-draw, I am happy to do so, but after one complete change, I will charge for additional re-works (cost varies depending on order complexity).

Once you're happy with the drawing, I will proceed to add colour! It's very important you're confident your reference images accurately reflect the true colours of your subject. It's a great idea to send me multiple reference images and let me know which is the most accurate! Unless specified otherwise, I will send you a photo of the painting in its near completion. I am happy to make minor adjustments charge-free (for example, a dog's eyes might be a slightly lighter shade of brown) but any major colour re-works will incur an additional labour fee (price depends on complexity).

Once you are happy with your painting, I will post it out to you! I will let you know your order has been posted with its reference number via email (please read my shipping info ✨here✨ for information on which postage option is best for you.

Please keep in mind your work is painted by a humans' hand, and is not a photograph. As an artist, it is very important to me that I meet your needs, and if there is something you do not like about your artwork, please let me know and I will do everything I can to adjust it to your preferences. I do not accept refunds or returns for custom artwork.

If you have any further questions about the commissioning process, please get in touch :)
