I will quickly be in touch with you to discuss references, confirm dimensions and price and provide an estimated timeframe. I send a rough drawing of your portrait before I begin, so you can ensure you're happy with the loose composition. Then once your painting is completed, I will send you another photo for approval before allowing it to dry. Minor adjustments can be made at this stage before drying. After approval, and once your portrait is touch-dry, a protective varnish is applied. All commissioned oil paintings come with a certificate of authenticity. Please include the name of the animal you would like painted, so I can include the artworks' title.

The Commission Process (Oil Paintings)

The background of the photo reference usually largely informs how I will paint the background of your commission, but if you have a colour preference please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you! My style is more impressionist, and I normally paint vague colour-focussed backgrounds, rather than highly detailed locations.
